Malchus

Act V — The VesselSection 43 of 74

Malchus and Emunah

Faith is often misunderstood as believing propositions without evidence.

In Torah, emunah is closer to fidelity, trust, firmness and relationship.

Malchus requires emunah because the receiver cannot always see the whole structure above it.

The moon does not generate the sun.

The world does not perceive Ein Sof directly.

The Jew in exile does not see how every event fits redemption.

Yet covenant continues.

וֶאֱמוּנָתְךָ בַּלֵּילוֹת

“Your faithfulness in the nights” (Psalms 92:3).

Night is where emunah becomes visible.

The day does not require the same kind of trust.

Malchus is lunar because Malchus can carry reflected truth through darkness.

This is not blind belief.

It is relational memory.

I remember the Source even when illumination is partial.
