Malchus

Act VII — The CrownSection 66 of 74

The Deepest Meaning of “Nothing of Her Own”

We are finally ready to return again to the Zoharic phrase.

לית לה מגרמה כלום

“She has nothing of her own.”

Perhaps the phrase does not mean that Malchus lacks being.

Perhaps it reveals what being actually is.

Nothing in creation has existence “of its own”.

Malchus simply knows it.

A stone is sustained by Hashem.

An angel is sustained by Hashem.

A galaxy is sustained by Hashem.

A tzaddik is sustained by Hashem.

The difference is not dependence versus independence.

There is no true independence.

The difference is consciousness versus concealment.

Malchus is the Sefirah in which received existence can become conscious of itself as received.

Her “nothing” is therefore the truth of everything.

All creatures are leis lah m’garmah klum.

Malchus is the mirror clear enough to say it.

And once creation knows that its existence is received, received existence no longer feels humiliating.

It becomes relationship.
